Since its inception in 1994, Events South Australia (previously Australian Major Events) has secured and/or managed a diverse and impressive array of events from food and wine, lifestyle, culture and the arts to major sports and motor sport spectaculars.

We are currently the only major events corporation in Australia that extensively manages a variety of events as well sponsoring and bidding for events in South Australia. We are proud of our impressive record, earning us a well-deserved reputation for quality and achievement in staging cultural, sporting and international events that are showcased every year.

Our events promote South Australia as a tourism destination to millions of people worldwide through free-to-air and pay television and other electronic and print media. In the 2005 - 2006 event year our managed events generated more than $50 million in media exposure for South Australia.

Adelaide's ability to stage events is enhanced by its range of versatile indoor and outdoor venues, including its vast parklands, within a one mile radius of the city centre.  Adelaide has a reputation as the '20 minute city' for easy travel to beaches, the hills and wine country.

Festivals and events play a key role in positioning and branding South Australia, now widely regarded as the events and festival State.
